Draft opening placeholder

A social action course does not end when the semester ends. Students may give final presentations, submit campaign binders, and reflect on what they learned, but the issues they worked on often remain unresolved. Some campaigns win during the semester. Some lose. Some continue. Some become the foundation for internships, independent studies, student organizations, or partnerships with community groups. The final weeks of the course should therefore help students ask not only “What did we accomplish?” but also “What happens next?”

Teaching Social Action is built for continuity. Campaign binders, presentations, timelines, power maps, and reflections are not only final assignments. They are records that allow future students to understand what happened and decide whether to carry the work forward.

Sustaining campaigns framework draft

What remains unresolved?	Identifies the next phase of the issue.
Who should continue the work?	Connects students, interns, organizations, or future classes.
What materials must be preserved?	Ensures the binder, timeline, contacts, and artifacts can be used again.
