Course Description:
This critical human-environmental geography course explores the spectrum of environmental action, cooperation, and peacebuilding in an era of rapid and substantial change. We will engage with debates across fields of literature on processes of social change across the human and natural landscapes. We will engage with diverse perspectives on social and political power and justice as we move from problem to solution spaces. We will consider questions around social and environmental change from a critical perspective as we think about social organization and re-organization within and across geographic boundaries. As a substantial component of this course, students will lead social action projects on a pressing social-environmental challenge.
