Course Description:

This course aims to develop a comprehensive understanding of social work practice at the macro level. Students will apply the person-in-environment perspective to identify targets for change at multiple levels, utilize credible statistical data sources, analyze task group dynamics, and apply ethical principles to create culturally responsive human service organizations and communities. Additionally, students will analyze and apply empowerment theory, social capital theory, and other frameworks, culminating in the application of the generalist social work practice planned-change process to address social problems and enact macro-level change efforts.
