Course Description:
The objective of this course is to develop the mindset of our students toward social entrepreneurship. There are various national and international social enterprises that are working on societal development. However, formal academic efforts to train the young generation are of pivotal importance to bringing productive outcomes. Therefore, the primary objective of this course “Social entrepreneurship” is not only to make students understand the ideology of social entrepreneurship and its strong linkage with social change but also to make them active learners, actors, and influencers of society. The overall pragmatic approach configured in this course will instill in students all proficiencies required to become social entrepreneurs in the diverse fields of society. The course will expose students to the theory of social entrepreneurship, models of social change, definitions of social entrepreneurship, management skills required for social entrepreneurial organizations, scaling of social impact, and impact measurement for social mission organizations. The core outcome of the course will be in the form of those social action projects (SAP) that students will initiate in their selected communities while working as real-time change agents.
