Course Description:

In this course, students focus on the principles of solutions journalism, a reporting approach that goes beyond traditional news coverage to explore and report on successful responses to social problems such as climate change. They learn how to apply solutions journalism to the coverage of climate change, with a focus on highlighting solutions and actions that can help mitigate the effects of climate change. Through readings, discussions, and hands-on writing exercises, students learn how to identify and report on climate change stories that offer hope and inspire action.
