Motivation to Teach Social Action:

I am particularly interested in participating in this course development program because it aligns with my goal of enriching my Chinese language and culture courses through experiential learning. The opportunity to integrate social action campaigns into my curriculum offers a unique way to engage students with real-world issues while deepening their understanding of Chinese cultural contexts. By developing and supporting student-led initiatives, I aim to foster critical thinking, cultural empathy, and active citizenship among my students. The program's focus on practical applications and the hands-on approach to learning will provide valuable tools and strategies that can enhance my teaching and offer students meaningful, action-oriented experiences.

Course Description:

I plan on integrating a social action component into my existing Chinese language and culture courses. For example, I envision incorporating social action projects that address contemporary social and environmental issues in China, such as water conservation or cultural heritage preservation. This integration will allow students to apply their language skills and cultural knowledge to real-world problems, enhancing their engagement and understanding of both the course material and broader societal issues.
