Interest

I teach health advocacy and activism courses to both undergraduate and graduate students, and often incorporate community and civic partnerships into those courses. I would love to learn how to integrate social action learning experiences as well!

Experience

I have taught social advocacy and political advocacy projects, including quarter-long projects aligned with the WA state legislative session, but have not taught more direct social action (protest, etc).

Engagement Description

this course is part of a master's in social justice and community health, so students tend to focus on related topics. This past year students worked on issues related to food insecurity, parental rights + trans health, health abolition and the foster care system, and vaccine equity advocacy.
