Interest

As a practicing social worker and social work educator, I am interested in tangible tools that assist learners and educators in moving theory into practice across all levels of social work.

Experience

I have never taught social action specifically. However, teaching graduate level social workers, leading capstone projects, and supervising field placements has created a strong foundation for understanding how students can be effective in spaces that maintain power imbalances, work to directly oppress the most vulnerable, and challenge systems that have long been accepted without critique.

Engagement Description

Intersections of compounding risk and vulnerability based on identity, social location, context and political landscape, policy, harm reduction and public health implications, trauma and treatment access.
