teaching in 26-27, doing a soft landing in fall 25…where students have the option to do TSA
I have been a graduate teaching assistant, and I solo taught for the first time last summer. I really want to learn about how to incorporate social action into the courses that I hope to teach in the future so that I can guide students to do meaningful applied and/or action-based learning and projects.
I have not. But I took a social justice and public health course where we learned about what social justice approaches look like in public health. For our project, the professor had us pick a community organization, volunteer, and help the organization with an issue or project.
Any kind of current gendered oppression issue. Last summer I had students interested in reproductive justice issues, stopping sexual violence, inequality in the workplace, and LGBTQ+ policy issues.
