Motivation to Teach Social Action:
I am interested in engaging in more public sociology in general, but also have been studying racial justice movements and activism for decades, and recently started teaching Social Problems again, would be a good format to use for this class!
Course Description:
This course explores problems in society and their social construction. Explores how sociologists approach issues such as inequality by race, class and gender. Other topics covered may include violence, environmental degradation and social deviance.
Taught By:
Eileen O'Brien
Adjunct Professor of Sociology
