Motivation to Teach Social Action:
Through the course EDF 3333 Social Foundations of Education, I work with students to explore the history, sociology, philosophy and politics of education. While we discuss social action in the course, students do not have the opportunity to explicitly engage in social action activities. Participating in this course development program would provide me with the tools and framework to support students learning progression from theoretical to practical. Such a progression would likely enhance students engagement in the course and understanding of how to use their roles as future educators to enact social change as it relates to schooling.
Course Description:
A study of the sociological, historical, political, legal, and philosophical bases of American education.
Taught By:
Qiana` Cutts Givens
