Motivation to Teach Social Action:

I teach social change and policy courses and would like to take them away from just research and theory. I would like it to be more praxis-oriented in this course as well as incorporating more community-engaged learning in all courses.

Course Description:

This course examines the structural and cultural factors that facilitate societal change. Students will explore the ways by which social problems are constructed and how laws and policies are framed and impacted by social movements and organizations.
