Motivation to Teach Social Action:

As someone who studies critical consciousness and social empathy development in college classrooms, I see tremendous value in experiential learning approaches that empower students to create real change. Also, I intend to become a faculty member at an institution that prioritizes teaching excellence. I believe the model this institute is designed around could serve as a powerful framework for integrating theory and practice while fostering students' agency and civic engagement skills. I look forward to understanding how this model can help me create more effective courses for my teaching and research goals.

Course Description:

This graduate-level course explores approaches to research that emphasize community engagement and authentic representations. Students will learn to conduct research that honors the uniqueness of individual experiences while contributing to meaningful social change.
