Motivation to Teach Social Action:
Much of my experience in enacting social change as been from a community organizer perspective. As I enter the season of being a full-time faculty member, I want to help train the next generation of social workers to create social changes within their communities.
Course Description:
This course will focus on providing emerging social workers with the analysis and skill set necessary to organize in communities. As part of the final project, students will make attempts to enact social change. The class will use a scaffolding method to build tension and allow for students to increase their tactics to create social change.
