Motivation to Teach Social Action:
I am passionate about teaching students to participate in our democracy. In high school, I participated in Empire Girls State, which is a program about social action/democratic values put on every year by the American Legion Auxiliary. I also went back to be a mentor at Empire Girls State in undergrad.
Course Description:
This course will focus on empowering students to engage in social action and democratic participation. Through a series of co-curricular workshops, participants will explore strategies for scrutinizing information, fostering community engagement, and taking meaningful steps toward social change. The course aims to inspire students to become informed and active contributors to their communities and democracy.
