Motivation to Teach Social Action:
I would highly benefit from participating in dialogue surrounding social movements and techniques for social action in my everyday teaching in the Native American Studies department.
Course Description:
The NAS 5 course fulfills the lower-division English Composition writing requirement. In NAS 5, students read and write about Native American and Indigenous literary works, as they learn how to engage in interdisciplinary analysis. All writing assignments help engage in critical thinking, research, citation, and revision skills, while also learning to be self reflective about their academic writing. The Word Count for Writing Intensive (WI) courses require that each student write 6,000 words by the end of the quarter.
