Motivation to Teach Social Action:
I want to bridge my 25+ years of community organizing experience with the institute's framework to equip college students with practical, high-impact advocacy skills. Beyond curriculum integration, I'm committed to leveraging my broader professional network to connect students with strategic resources, key stakeholders, and power structures—helping them convert their campaigns into tangible policy wins. The key to wins is in the relationships students will develop. The power is in the relationship.
Course Description:
This is a foundational course for public health students to identify and understand public policies and develop advocacy campaigns that affect change in population health outcomes.
