Motivation to Teach Social Action:

I teach a class on poverty where students participate in a social innovation incubator and develop a proposal for a social innovation to address an aspect of poverty. I'd like to layer in social action.

Course Description:

This course explores the growing inequalities both within and between countries in the context of a rapidly evolving global economy. It delves into the historical, cultural, and political factors contributing to inequality and examines whether such disparities are inevitable or preventable. Students will investigate the causes of inequality and work collaboratively to develop actionable strategies for addressing these issues, with a focus on their local community. The course emphasizes social infrastructure as a means to create sustainable change and equips students with tools to understand and tackle inequality through social action and innovation.
