I would like to revive my long-standing interest in civic education and cross-cultural democratic socialization to integrate some components in my teaching here at Clemson.
I taught a course on Global Community - a survey course for college students enrolled in a special program to educate future non-profit leaders. The emphasis was on learning about "the third sector" (NGOs) and how it's organized in societies around the world. There was also an experiential component where students went on a trip to Czech Republic to visit some NGOs.
