Motivation to Teach Social Action:

I have taught and currently teach several courses on social justice and social action, and I am always looking to expand on the knowledge and experiences I offer my students.

Course Description:

The purpose of the course is to introduce the concepts of health disparities, health inequities and the social determinants of health. Students will gain a better understanding of the causes of health disparities and will develop skills needed to address these disparities. The course will address the need for cultural sensitivity when developing, implementing and disseminating policies and practices to address social justice issues related to individual and community health.
