I have a 45 year history of social activism. I have an expertise in race relations in the US. I teach from a justice and contemplative practice based approach. I would love to collaborate with others with the same commitment to justice. And I’m thrilled to be there for my colleagues, Chevy and Tracie
22 years at Columbia School of Social Work and Columbia School of International and Public Affairs. And 15 years at John Jay. Last fall my freshman SEEK class ended up bringing 110 people to the polls

A freshman course for SEEK students focuses on integrating social justice and critical consciousness through Freire’s model. The course, taught by Cheryl Franks, emphasizes social action, protecting voting rights, and fostering awareness through an affinity group model. Franks has extensive experience in social activism and aims to collaborate with others committed to justice.
