The Eco Leadership Team is an empowered group of Seniors who take action to bring forward an environmentally sustainable and just community at O'Dowd and beyond. Eco Leaders act as stewards of the Living Lab, lead Eco Club, organize environmentally themed campus events, and work to implement initiatives that build sustainability on campus as well as in the greater community.

I would like to develop a stronger framework for implementing social action campaigns with a group of advanced leadership students. I want them to not only be equipped with the tools to lead their own projects but feel empowered and excited to do so.
I have worked with students completing various action projects, working across several areas of focus, with a common goal of increasing awareness of environmental issues. I now work with an Advanced Leadership Team of seniors focusing on environmental and sustainability issues and one of the other teams we work with follows a social action model which we have incorporated parts of into our work.
This year and in the past students have focused on topics like reducing plastic use/waste on campus, reducing waste in the theater department, increasing access to the outdoor Living Lab on campus, create systems to swap clothing, changing the vending machines and their content.
A coworker who has completed this previously, and implements it with their leadership team, has been recommending this for myself.
