Motivation to Teach Social Action:

I feel like this content and the pedagogical strategies highlighted would take a course that I am teaching to the next level by not just talking to nursing students about how to advocate for health equity with patients and populations but through helping them engage in a social action that would do so.

Course Description:

This course is the third in a series on health equity. Based on analysis of social and structural influences on health, learners will advocate for equitable health and systems outcomes. Students will use principles of emergency preparedness, global and planetary health, and complex population health needs to inform advocacy for health and wellness.
