Motivation to Teach Social Action:

I teach our macro social work course, and my students complete a community based project as the major project for the course. I would like to improve upon what I am doing.

Course Description:

This course focuses on macro-level social work practice, equipping students with the skills to facilitate change within organizations and communities. Through project-based learning, students design and implement initiatives that address social issues such as poverty, child welfare, LGBTQ+ concerns, and intimate partner violence. This course is reserved for social work majors and requires SWK 501 as a prerequisite, along with SWK 465 and SWK 485 as either prerequisites or corequisites.
