(3) a safe place to park their cars in the SJSU garage (if sleeping in a car)

3/22/24— The Student Homeless Alliance (SHA) won a 12-bed emergency campus housing program for homeless students, along with the creation of a dedicated center for basic needs that would guarantee privacy, as well as a marketing plan to let students know about the beds and center. SHA was first create in the early 1990s as a student group that focused on reducing homeless in the community, and was active in many semesters all the way through 2017. Then, the homeless crisis hit the students, and they began focuses on a campus response to the student homeless crisis. SHA has worked the past four years to implement the historic SJSU-SHA Agreement. SHA was about to launch a state-wide campaign to include housing in CAL Grants at a cost of $2 billion, but COVID-19 made that campaign impossible.
