Unplug and Engage

Demands

  • Unplug and Engage demands that in early childhood classrooms, (PreK-Grade 2), screen time usage during intervention blocks should be limited to once per week.
  • Allotted screen time should be no longer than 60 minutes per week for mathematics and literacy intervention.
  • Unplug and Engage demands that in place of computer-based intervention programs (iStation SLA, iReady Reading, iReady Math), intervention time blocks should be used for hands-on, real-world experiences.

Target

Superintendent of Rochester City School District, the Principal of RCSD School #12, the NYS Teacher's Union Representatives, and the RCSD Board of Education Representatives.
