The Safe Space

The Safe Space

Demands

Demand 1: Safe Space demands a policy change that allows student organizations to have a representative present at the Student Service Fund (SSF) Committee Meeting each year.

Demand 2: Safe Space demands a liaison to advocate for the Safe Space’s interests at the university.

Target

Scott Iverson - Assistant Vice Chancellor for Housing and Student Life

Status: Active

Update: Safe Space has made significant strides toward its mission of creating a welcoming and affirming campus environment. While we have not yet achieved our goals of recruiting a liaison or securing policy changes for representation on the Student Service Fund Committee, we successfully established ourselves as an official student organization. This milestone strengthens our ability to build collective power, advocate for fairness and justice, and educate students in cross-cultural understanding as we continue pursuing our long-term objectives.
