Demands
- Stop Ash Grove demands that the Pugent Sound Clean Air Agency does not remove the 30% TDF limit from Ash Grove Cement Company air permit.
- My recommendation is to define TDF. I think it means Tire-Derived Fuel. Moreover, the students will need to explain this in their literature, because students they are recruiting and the larger public will not know what that means. They need to explain why TDF is so harmful in their org rap, fliers, social media, etc. Also, I think they mean "Puget".
- Stop Ash Grove demands third-party comprehensive and equitable emission testing to determine the effects of tire burning to the Duwamish Valley that is available for public access.
- My recommendation is to reword it to emphasize testing: "Stop Ash Grove demands a comprehensive emission testing to determine the effects of tire burning in the Duwamish Valley by a third-party organization." Do the students that they are trying to recruit understand "third party". Maybe the students should say "by a neutral organization".
Target
- Ash Grove Cement Company
- My recommendation: The target is probably the President of this company. Have the students look him/her up and state the name. If the President is unwilling to meet the students' demands, they may need to go to the Board of Directors, if they have one. They could also approach the City Mayor or County Supervisors.
