Demands
The proposed allocation of $250,000 from the City of Memphis' housing budget to subsidize rent assistance and affordable housing development in areas impacted by student housing pressures is consistent with the city's ongoing efforts to address housing affordability. This targeted investment would help stabilize housing costs and support the development of sustainable, community-driven housing solutions in neighborhoods such as VECA, Midtown, and North Parkway/Heights. And we want this to happen by Memphis budget approval time which is in June.
