Mother's First Initiative

Demands

  • Expand Campus Food Pantry Services – Require the pantry and/or dining services to include prenatal vitamins, iron-rich foods, and other maternal nutrition items for pregnant students.
  • Formal Prenatal Care Partnerships – Demand that student health services partner with local maternal health organizations (such as Hope Clinic for Women) to provide referrals and accessible prenatal check-ups for student-mothers.
  • Affordable Housing and Childcare for Student-Mothers – Demand that the university offer discounted family housing options for pregnant students and those with infants, as well as accessible and affordable on-campus childcare services to support student-mothers in completing their education.
