Demands
- We propose that Fisher implement Mental Health First Aid(MHFA) training for all campus members, including staff, faculty, and students. These training sessions should be held four times each academic year to ensure accessibility for everyone. Safety & Security officers and Residential Directors should also receive this training, which will be mandatory if not already completed. MHFA training is a one-time course, but optional for staff, faculty and students, though highly recommended.
- To ensure the training is happening regularly, we recommend monitoring its frequency and confirming its completion. We aim for everyone on campus to have the opportunity to participate in Mental Health First Aid training. On Friday, October 10, 2025, we want to dedicate a day for all members of the campus to receive this training with the help of Health & Wellness Center. The course will take 8 hours to complete and will result in certification.
- Finally, we advocate for the availability of mental health professionals on campus to provide intervention services for students after 4:30 pm.
