Demands

  • Demand 1: Crimson Voices demands that the University of Alabama designate a permanent suite within the Student Well-Being Hub used as a "Peer Support Sanctuary", which should include high-NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) acoustic treatment and secure badge-entry for privacy.
  • Demand 2: Crimson Voices demands the hiring of one (1) Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) dedicated exclusively to facilitating peer-led support groups.
  • Demand 3: Crimson Voices demands the establishment of a Peer Support Recurring Fund managed by the Office of Student Care and Wellbeing, which will guarantee the reservation of university facilities for a meeting space and provide a stipend for student "Peer Leaders" to ensure consistent, AA-style meeting availability once every two weeks from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
