Motivation for Teaching Social Action:

I would love to learn more about the history of social action, current practices, and effective approaches for equipping students, faculty, and staff to engage effectively with community leaders.

Course Description:

Students register to serve with one of our community nonprofit partners. After each week of service, students submit reflection questions around the big picture. I would love to engage the students on a deeper level. Additionally, we are offering our first workshop this month. Our featured speaker is from an organization that serves people with physical disabilities. I believe this could grow into a multifaceted lecture series that could introduce our academic community to change leaders in the world of social action.
