Motivation for Teaching Social Action:
I teach an environmental science class where students tackle environmental issues around campus and work to create improvements or solutions to the issues. I think this course would help me to improve the outcomes of this class.
Course Description:
Elective for juniors and senior high school students where they explore the local environmental issues and work to create projects that improve these issues. Previous student groups have built rain gardens, bug motels, bat houses, pollinator gardens and have worked to restore the riparian area on campus.
