Engagement Description

I would like to continue and extend our current research on Institutional Reparations for our HBCU to gain State and Federal funding comparable to others in the UNC system. The research defends the historical contributions of our university when educational choices were denied to African Americans in the region; and would allow our institution to be an affordable and comparable choice among our publicly funded counterparts in the future.

Experience

I designed and taught a Public Advocacy course in Fall 23 that mainly focused on research and legislative arguments surrounding a topic.

Interest

This would be fitting extension to current public advocacy research with students.

How did you hear about opportunity

From a colleague at my university.
