Course Description:

The course examines the history of environmental policy, the legal and institutional arrangements for environmental protection in America, major policy actors, institutions, and current issues related to drivers and impacts of climate change. Using an experiential project-based approach, students will examine a specific issue related to climate change, identify demands and targets, build power, select strategy and tactics, and design a social action campaign around that issue. Attention is also devoted to effective communication of environmental issues in the policy-making process.
