Course Description:
This course introduces students to the political institutions, actors and major events regarding the issue of climate change at the international/ global, national and local levels. More specifically, the course surveys different perspectives and political debates surrounding climate change. Students will examine: 1) the history and institutions for addressing a global commons problem; 2) review political developments at international, national, and local scales; 3) survey climate change attitudes, beliefs and discourses; and 4) review a set of policy approaches for climate change mitigation and adaptation.
