Course Description:

The Arts in Community Engagement introduces students to the practice and theory that cultural organizations use to envision, plan, execute, and evaluate arts-based community engagement initiatives. Centering service to the community as critical for successful arts based community engagement, students will also complete 50 hours of service learning fieldwork with a cultural organization. Lastly, teams of students will receive funding to develop arts based community engagement projects that engage other Michigan students in critical social issues.
