Engagement Description

Food insecurity, anti-racism, period poverty.

Experience

I have taught concepts relevant to social action. During our Peer trainings, we include discussion of identity, intersectionality, bystander intervention, and more. These discussions allow the Peers to examine their role in society, understand how their identity and experiences may impact their work, and cultivate a sense of constant learning and growth. I look forward to working on improving my social action teaching skills through this traning.

Interest

In my role, I coordinate Wellness Peer Educators who promote positive change on campus. I am seeking opportunities to further enrich the work of our Peers, and think the course development program will be very helpful in these efforts. My beliefs align with The Bonner Foundation value of including the community impacted by a challenge playing a part in creating solutions for that challenge. This is why I feel that empowering Peer Educators to create change within their own communities will be so powerful.
