Course Description:
UNXD130: Social Action is a 1-credit course offered by Georgetown University's Center for Social Justice Research, Teaching, and Service (CSJ). It is designed to create a community- and reflective-based space to provide wrap-around support for experiential learning. Students will connect with peers in an online, mentored community, with the goal of deepening their reflection on community-based work. Each participant will use their internship or volunteer experiences as the primary “course text” to analyze and reflect on throughout the Semester. This course will require concentrated effort and a willingness to reflect on and analyze one’s self in relation to important social justice issues. Throughout the semester, students explore and experience how knowledge and action can support and advance the collective pursuit and promotion of social justice.
