Social Justice and Civic Action

Course Description:

This social justice and civic action course is designed to introduce and increase awareness surrounding social justice and civic action issues within the social environment that we live in. Students will engage in discussions surrounding voting rights, voter suppression, and other social justice topics. Students will engage in the content through in-class discussions, in-class debates, as well as online and in-class assignments. Students will also create and/or participate in on and/or off- campus initiatives surrounding social justice issues. As future social workers, students will understand the power of advocating for vulnerable populations as well as working alongside communities to advance and champion social justice concerns within society and their communities.
