Course Description:
Introduction to Collective Change in Memphis is a course that explores power and democracy in the context of Memphis. More specifically, this course examines how collective change is accomplished through an active and engaged citizenry. We will explore topics like issue development, building power, group dynamics, strategy and tactics, and campaign planning and implementation as they relate to changing specific policies in the Memphis area. Learn what “doing something” about systemic urban issues looks like and prepare to contribute to positive change in Memphis during your next four years at Rhodes College.
