Course Description:
The course will provide foundational knowledge of food systems as coupled or linked social-ecological systems described through concepts that help to make visible their main components, relations, and dynamics. We will ask questions about the adaptive complexity of food systems, why some interventions in food systems have had major unintended consequences, the conditions that could make them resilient, and potential approaches to redesign sustainable food systems for global just futures.
