Engagement Description

Improving services and programming for those with invisible disabilities, food equity, supporting the unhoused and childhood literacy.

Experience

Yes I have taught it before. In my Communities class I assign an awareness project where they have to present their information in the union to promote the sharing of knowledge with the campus community.

Interest

I teach a Communities class every Spring and I love helping students to grasp Macro level social change. It is always my goal in that course as well as other courses to incorporate a civic engagement opportunity as often as possible. Doing so helps them to understand how systems work and in what way change needs to be approached to ensure it is what the target system need and wants for their own well-being.

How did you hear about opportunity

I received an email regarding applying to the Institute.
