Engagement Description

Class attendance related to mental health, unpaid internships/practicums, lease issues with landlords, and campus parking costs correlated with parking spaces to name a few.

Experience

I am a former community organizer who worked for a small non-profit. I have participated in "actions" such as 17 busloads of people protesting at Karl Rove's home in suburbs of Washington, D.C. I have also participated in protests at the Missouri State capitol as part of my job where we organized low-income residents and senior citizens to protest against proposed Medicare/Medicaid cuts in the state budget.

Interest

I am teaching a part 2 of a social welfare policy course and I want the course to include components and content that requires them to do more. I believe that helps experiential learners.

How did you hear about opportunity

I heard about it from Dr. Scott Myers-Lipton
