Course Description:
This course explores the critical relationship between anti-oppression work and/or study with practices of self- and community-care. As we study social justice issues we will simultaneously learn about and practice contemplative strategies to mindful living that include attention to care, compassion, empathy, resistance, and transformation at both the individual and community levels, with an emphasis on mutual aid. Students will design and implement a social action project that applies lessons from contemplative practices to social change work.
