Course Description:
Intro to Leadership Development: This course overviews theoretical constructs and practical applications of leadership through readings, lectures, active discussions, and reflective assignments. This course will assist students in developing (individual and team) approaches to effective leadership. This course is led by the Dean of Students Office and Student Engagement & Leadership (SEAL). It intends to create a community of learners where all students enrolled are active participants. The course has the following objectives: 1. To introduce and examine historical, philosophical, and theoretical perspectives of leadership. 2. To reflect on and develop individual approaches to effective leadership. 3. To explore components of leadership skills and organizational behavior. 4. To explore practical applications of leadership theories. 5. To assess and strengthen leadership skills and abilities. 6. To understand leadership in a global context.
