Students for Filipino Farmworkers

Students for Filipino Farmworkers

Demand

We demand an art installation at the cost of $100,000 to commemorate the forgotten Filipino Farmworkers who contributed to United Farmworkers Movement.

Target

President Cynthia Teniente-Matson

Secondary Target: SJSU Planning Commission

Status: Won

3/25/24 — Students for Filipino Farmworkers won their demand in one semester. However, this was the second time this campaign was attempted; the first time was in 2018, under the name Asian American Arts and Action. Incredibly, this campaign was put forward by Kayla, a Filipina student, who made her pitch on the 4th day of discussing possible campaigns, when almost all of the campaigns in the class had been set, but her pitch was so powerful, she convinced 6six students to switch campaigns and create this winning campaign!
