Gulf Coast Civic Works Project

The GCCWP demands the passage of House Resolution (HR) 4048, a student-inspired recovery bill that would create a minimum of 100,000 prevailing wage jobs and training opportunities for local and displaced Gulf Coast workers on projects reinvesting in infrastructure and restoring the coastal environment utilizing emerging green building technologies at the cost of $6 Billion.

Status: Lost

March 21, 2025 — After a four-year response to Hurricane Katrina, and numerous campaign actions, students and their allies of over 100 organization, lost this campaign. It should be noted that HR 4048 was re-introduced in the next Congressional session as HR 2269.
