Motivation to Teach Social Action:

I teach experiential learning courses. The course that I have in mind for this program is Social Movements.

Course Description:

All societies contain some form of conflict and are in a constant state of change. This course focuses on the complex relationship between conflict, social change, and social movements. More specifically, we will study the role social movements have played in shaping institutions and cultural norms in American society. Since social movements involve diverse people, we will systematically examine the ways in which groups and individuals, across generations, actively participate in and shape social movement origins and outcomes.
